Ukraine's Security Service releases photo showing Oreshnik missile fragments found in Lviv Oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has reported that it has located fragments of a Russian ballistic missile used to strike Lviv Oblast on the night of 8-9 January. Early reports suggest that the parts belong to the Oreshnik missile system.

Details: The parts found so far include:
- a stabilisation and guidance unit, described as the missile's "brains"
- components from the propulsion system
- fragments of the orientation mechanism
- nozzles from the separation stage platform, and other items.

The fragments have been registered as physical evidence and are being prepared for transfer for further expert examination.

SSU investigators have classified the use of this weapon against Ukraine's civilian infrastructure as a war crime by Russia.
