Russian attack causes blackout at Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant

A blackout has occurred at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) due to a power outage in the northern Ukrainian town of Slavutych following Russian attacks.

Details: The ministry reported that as a result of the Russian strike on energy infrastructure in the town of Slavutych, an emergency situation arose at the Chornobyl NPP because of a power outage.
Quote: "Due to voltage surges, the New Safe Confinement, which is the key structure isolating the destroyed fourth power unit at the Chornobyl NPP and preventing the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was cut off from the power grid.
Power engineers are currently working to restore the power supply."
Background: The town of Slavutych has been left without electricity after Russian forces attacked a power substation.
