Russian forces preparing assaults on Orikhiv front

Russian forces have been reinforcing assault companies on the Orikhiv front and preparing attacks aimed at entering the settlement of Stepove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Quote: "According to our intelligence, it is now on the Orikhiv front that enemy units preparing for assaults are replenishing their assault companies.

For this the enemy is using mobilised Russian servicemen who refused to sign contracts to serve in Russian forces."

Details: Voloshyn said that the objective of the Russian assaults is to enter the settlement of Stepove, expel Ukrainian units and consolidate on the captured positions.

He explained that the Russians are moving personnel of these assault groups to forward positions and bringing in weapons to form groups of five-seven people at certain points; these groups will be used in assault actions near Stepove.

Voloshyn added that several days ago Russian forces used aircraft to strike Ukrainian fortifications and positions near Stepove.

Preparatory measures for further assault actions are currently underway.
