Next-generation prosthetics and drone autopilot systems: Ukrainian school students win gold at international inventions show

Ukrainian school students have won 15 gold medals at the INOVA International Invention Show, one of the world's oldest exhibitions of new inventions.

Details: Representatives from 25 countries presented 401 projects, including new products, technical solutions and innovative ideas, at the event in Zagreb, Croatia.
All the Ukrainian students who took part in INOVA 2025 received gold medals for their innovations.
Kateryna Altukhova from Zhytomyr Oblast won a gold medal for her study of dyshormonal and metabolic disorders among women and girls during wartime.
Anton Vovk from Volyn Oblast was awarded gold for his analysis of water dynamics in Volyn Oblast using remote data.
Mariia Diuzheva from Kyiv won gold for her project on the impact of urban green spaces on mental health.
Ivan Ivanenko from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast won gold for his research into rifling types that improve heat dissipation and strength in firearm barrels.
More details: Many of the award-winning Ukrainian projects were war-related. Yaroslav Sheiko from Poltava Oblast won a gold medal for his project to create an autopilot system enabling UAVs to reach a target specified by the operator at low altitudes in the absence of a GNSS signal.
Tamara Obolonska from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast researched animal-assisted rehabilitation for soldiers with leg amputations, while Anastasiia Romaniv from Lviv Oblast presented "Separata prosthesis", a project about new-generation artificial limbs.
Students were also awarded gold medals for research focused on health and environmental issues.
