Russians attack Ukraine with 416 aerial targets overnight; 8 missiles and 78 drones hit targets
On the night of 2-3 October, the Russians launched 416 aerial attacks on Ukraine, of which 320 were downed by the Air Force.

Details: From 20:00 on 2 October through the night of 2-3 October, Russia carried out a combined strike on Ukraine, employing:
- 381 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types, launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk
- 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles
- 21 Iskander-K cruise missiles
- 7 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles.
The main targets were critical infrastructure sites (particularly in the energy sector) in Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts.
Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Kyiv oblasts were also affected by the overnight attack.
Early reports indicate that as of 10:00, Ukrainian air defence had destroyed or jammed 320 aerial targets, including:
- 303 Shahed, Gerbera and other UAVs;
- 12 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 5 Kh-59/69 guided missiles.
In the meantime, there were confirmed strikes involving 18 missiles and 78 strike drones at 15 locations, as well as debris from downed targets falling on 6 sites.
The airstrikes were repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defence forces.
