Over the past three days, Russian forces have intensified attempts to storm the Ukrainian defence forces' positions in the vicinity of the railway bridge on the left bank of the Dnipro River and the Antonivskyi Bridge in Kherson Oblast, using rain and fog as cover.

Quote from Zavtonov: "In the defence zone of the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy, Russian occupiers are using weather conditions as cover to intensify their actions. Over the past three days, we have observed an increase in the number of attempts to storm our positions in the vicinity of the railway bridge on the left bank of Dnipro and the Antonivskyi Bridge."

Details: According to the officer, the Russians try to operate in small infantry groups, relying on the element of surprise. Rain, fog, and strong winds in the southern region in recent days have contributed to this. In this short period, 12 such attacks were recorded. However, Zavtonov emphasised that all of them were quickly detected and repelled by Ukrainian defenders.

"Ukrainian soldiers are holding their positions – no losses or breakthroughs have been allowed," the spokesperson stressed.

He added that the Russians are also trying to advance in the island zone, using fog. In particular, in the vicinity of Velykyi Vilkhovyi and Nestryha islands, Ukrainian troops detected and destroyed several groups of Russian soldiers attempting to land.

Meanwhile, the Russians are intensifying terror against civilians. In the past three days alone, more than 200 attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure have been recorded, most of which have no military purpose, Zavtonov noted.

"Ukrainian defenders continue to maintain the initiative even under changing weather conditions. The professionalism of our units, intelligence work, and coordinated artillery actions make it possible not only to repel assaults but also to inflict significant losses on the enemy," the spokesperson added. In particular, from 30 September to 2 October, the Russians lost 39 soldiers and 19 units of weapons and military equipment.
