Russia launches 116 drones: Ukrainian air defence downs 83, but some hits reported

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 116 drones of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types on the night of 5-6 October.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 09:00, air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 83 Russian drones, including Shahed, Gerbera and other types, in the country's north, south, east and centre.

Hits by 30 UAVs have been recorded in seven locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones still in the airspace. "Do not ignore air-raid warnings. Please observe safety measures!" the post said.

Aircraft, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack.
