Russians attack energy facility in Chernihiv Oblast again

Russian forces struck an energy facility in the Ichnia district of Chernihiv Oblast on the night of 5-6 October.

Background:

• The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy convened an urgent meeting of the G7+ coordination group following the large-scale Russian overnight strikes on the energy sector, seeking international assistance.
• During a drone attack on the night of 3-4 October, Russian forces also damaged several critical electricity facilities in Chernihiv Oblast, which energy officials described as an "act of genocide" against the local population.
