Quote from Zelenskyy: "Last week – I won't say how many times – a combination of our Neptunes and Flamingos was used. You can analyse the results for yourselves. We are not saying that this pair is being used on a large scale. We are simply saying that it is being used and that we are seeing the first tangible results of this particular weapon."

Details: Speaking about retaliatory strikes deep into Russian territory, Zelenskyy noted that there is also a positive side to this issue.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Palianytsia [missile drone] has begun to strike enemy military depots in dozens of cases. This is positive because we have had various moments, and now we are no longer talking about isolated cases. The second positive [moment] is that Ruta, a missile drone of ours, struck a 250-kilometre+ sea tower for the first time. The greatest success was Liutyi, Fire Point, which was used en masse, with up to 300 units deployed, and this is a serious operation. We understand that Ust-Luga and Primorsk are within reach. What has happened is, in my opinion, a great success."

  • The Ukrainian Flamingo missile, which has a range of over 3,000 km, was first showcased in the summer of 2025. It is manufactured by Fire Point. The first photo of the missile was released by photographer Yefrem Lukatskyi, after which Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal officially confirmed that Flamingo is in production.
  • On 21 August, Zelenskyy announced that the Flamingo is set to go into mass production in a few months. He said at the time that tests had been carried out. However, he did not disclose any details about the missile.
  • In September, Fire Point Chief Technical Officer Iryna Terekh announced that the company is increasing production of the Flamingo missile. At that time, production had reached 50 units per month, compared to 30 units in August.
