Power outages have been recorded in nine of Ukraine's oblasts following a large-scale Russian attack on the energy system.

Details: He noted that relevant teams in Kyiv are working to restore electricity and water supplies.

In the meantime, power outages have been recorded in Kyiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava and Odesa oblasts, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

"Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad and Kherson oblasts are also recovering after the attack," Zelenskyy added.

Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission operator Ukrenergo clarified that emergency power cuts have been implemented in the affected regions.

Background: On the night of 9-10 October, Russian forces launched a large-scale strike on the country's energy system, causing emergency power outages across Ukraine.
