"If Russia persists in its obstinate warmongering and its refusal to come to the negotiating table, it will have to pay the price," Macron stressed.

The French president condemned Russia's latest large-scale attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which, he said, are in fact directed against the civilian population on the eve of winter.

Macron emphasised that France, together with its partners, is considering ways to help Ukraine rebuild damaged facilities and meet the basic needs of the population.

"France stands more than ever alongside Ukraine, fully engaged within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing," he added, referring to military allies supporting Kyiv.
