Details: The new solution allows manufacturers of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to significantly simplify and accelerate the development process.
Quote from DevDroid CEO Yurii Poritskyi: "Droid Box is essentially an operating system for UGVs, speeding up design, integration and the deployment of new solutions on the battlefield. It also establishes a unified control standard for Ukrainian ground robotic systems."
More details: DevDroid describes Droid Box as the literal brain of a ground drone, responsible for communications, control and the integration of combat modules.
The system is easily compatible with various platforms and supports simultaneous connections through multiple communication channels – radio, Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Starlink – ensuring stable control even in active combat zones.
Operators can control UGVs via a tablet screen or with a gamepad.
The system can also be integrated with DevDroid's Wolly combat module, turning a logistics platform into a reconnaissance and strike system.
Droid Box features artificial intelligence elements capable of autonomously detecting, tracking and locking onto targets.
The company says the system has been integrated into several Ukrainian ground drone platforms:
- NUMO – a multipurpose tracked UGV for logistics and combat missions.
- Ravlyk (Snail) – a universal platform for logistics, ammunition delivery and casualty evacuation from the battlefield.
- Zmii (Serpent) – an armoured ground robot resistant to anti-personnel mines and capable of withstanding enemy FPV drone drops of explosives.
- Bizon – a platform designed for ammunition transport, casualty evacuation and fire support.
Background: Earlier, DevDroid, together with Ravlyk UGV manufacturer, presented a new reconnaissance and strike system called Droid Raw 12.7.
