European solidarity with Ukraine is more important today than ever before – Polish PM

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has emphasised how important it is for Europe to show solidarity with Ukraine after the meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Details: After meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy spoke with EU leaders, the NATO secretary general and key European partners in the Coalition of the Willing.

"After President Zelenskyy's talks yesterday in the White House and with European leaders, one thing is absolutely clear: Europe's solidarity with Ukraine against Russia's aggression is today more important than ever before," Tusk stressed.

Background:

• It was reported after the meeting that Trump did not agree to provide Tomahawk missiles and that the conversation had been quite tense. However, Zelenskyy said the matter is not completely closed, despite Trump's current position.
• Following the meeting, Trump reiterated that Ukraine and Russia "need to negotiate" an end to the war.
