Kharkiv under large-scale Russian attack: kindergarten ablaze, one killed, children evacuated

Russian forces are bombarding Kharkiv, as at least three explosions have been heard in the city. A private kindergarten has been hit, injuring children. One person has been killed and six have been injured.

Quote from Terekhov: "A strike has hit a private kindergarten in the Kholodnohirskyi district, injuring children. A fire has broken out at the site of the strike."

Details: Terekhov said, citing early reports, that the strike had been carried out using Shahed attack drones.

"As of now, all the children have been evacuated from the kindergarten. The fire is ongoing," the mayor added.

Syniehubov confirmed that at least four people had been injured in the attack.

"At least two of them are in a serious condition. Medics are working at the scene," he said.

Terekhov elaborated that one of those injured is unconscious in intensive care.

Later, Syniehubov added that two more people are reported to have sustained injuries.

"It's a man and a woman, they are being taken to hospital. The woman is in a serious condition with burns. Medics are providing all the necessary assistance," he said.

At 11:41, Terekhov added that the attack on the kindergarten had killed one person and injured five. Syniehubov specified that the dead person in question was a 40-year-old man.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that many children are showing acute stress reactions.

"There is no justification for a drone strike on a kindergarten, nor can there ever be. Clearly, Russia is growing more brazen. These strikes are Russia's spit in the face to everyone who insists on a peaceful resolution. Thugs and terrorists can only be put in their place by force," Zelenskyy wrote
