Details: The SSU reported that these drones have been successfully trialled in missions in the Black Sea. They were involved in the third strike on the Crimean Bridge on 3 June 2025.
Lieutenant-General Vasyl Maliuk, Head of the SSU, said: "Our drones have changed the balance of power in the Black Sea and proved their effectiveness. The new generation of Sea Baby is even more effective. So the work to clear the Black Sea of the Russian fleet will continue. The enemy will feel the full force of our technological developments."
Brigadier-General Ivan "Hunter" Lukashevych said that the maritime drones carried explosives to the structural supports of the Crimean Bridge in this year's attack.
The SSU added that the new Sea Baby modifications have been built with funds raised by Ukrainians on the UNITED24 fundraising platform.
One of the heads of SSU military counter-intelligence, responsible for the 13th Hunter Main Directorate of counter-sabotage operations, also said the upgraded drones can travel over 1,500 km, carry up to 2,000 kg of payload and feature reinforced engines and a modern navigation system.

The SSU development team demonstrated two drones with different armament. The first is fitted with a gyro-stabilised machine-gun mount that has an automatic tracking and target-recognition system. The second carries heavy weaponry: a 10-round Grad multiple-rocket launcher.
SSU noted it is continuously developing other samples of advanced weaponry and is already using them successfully in the Black Sea, but detailed information about these systems is not being disclosed.
Background: In December 2024, the SSU reported that its Sea Baby maritime drones had engaged Russian helicopters and aircraft in Kerch Bay. Those drones were fitted with heavy-calibre machine-guns with ballistic automatic-aiming programmes and automatic target acquisition.
