Details: On 1 November, Russia's defence ministry claimed that Russian forces had "repelled an operation by DIU special forces" that landed in the Pokrovsk area and that all 11 personnel who had disembarked from a helicopter had been killed.
A source told Ukrainska Pravda that reports of a Ukrainian landing group being wiped out are false, adding that stabilisation measures led by DIU Head Kyrylo Budanov are ongoing in the designated area of Pokrovsk.
Quote: "This information is just as false as [Russian Chief of Staff General Valery] Gerasimov's report to [Vladimir] Putin a few days ago that Pokrovsk was encircled."
Background: Reuters reported earlier, citing sources, that DIU special forces were deployed to Pokrovsk at the beginning of this week amid intensified fighting, with the aim of stabilising the situation.
