Zelenskyy visits Kherson and promises stronger protection
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Kherson on 11 November to mark the third anniversary of the city's liberation.

It is already the third anniversary of the city's liberation from the Russians – the occupiers fled, and we remember how the courage of our people made it happen, how Ukrainian flags returned to the city, to the city of Kherson. I thank every one of our warriors who fought for Kherson, and everyone who is defending this beautiful city now – defending the lives of our people."
Details: Zelenskyy held a meeting in the city with military officials responsible for security, with representatives of the Unmanned Systems Forces among the attendees.
According to Zelenskyy, the meeting identified what Kherson needs to ensure greater protection.
Quote: "Thousands of Russian drone strikes target this city every month – in fact, such a threat is constant. I have instructed our Unmanned Systems Forces, Magyar's Birds [the 414th Brigade of Unmanned Strike Aviation Systems – ed.] and other units to expand the defence capabilities here. It is important to implement all this. We have set tasks to ensure the protection of roads and logistics – government officials will assist with this."
Details: It was later reported that Zelenskyy visited one of Kherson's hospitals, which operates under constant threat within the bombardment zone.
Quote: "I spoke with doctors and patients of the hospital. Every day, they save people who have been injured by Russian drone and artillery attacks. To ensure that our medics can work safely, the intensive care unit is located underground. Thank you to the doctors and everyone who continues to save Ukrainian lives even in such challenging conditions."
Zelenskyy also listened to a report on the construction of new medical infrastructure in Kherson Oblast. He added that eleven facilities already have underground hospitals.
Background:
- Russian forces continue to regularly attack Kherson. On 9 November, Russian forces struck the city's Korabelnyi district, injuring at least two people.
- On 8 November, three civilians were killed and 13 injured in Donetsk and Kherson oblasts.
