Ukraine's Energy Ministry reports consequences of Russian strikes on power system
More than 40,000 consumers in Kyiv Oblast, 20,000 in Odesa Oblast, 13,000 in Chernihiv Oblast, over 21,000 in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and more than 8,000 in Kharkiv Oblast have been left without power as a result of the Russian attack on the night of 24-25 November.

Details: Emergency shutdowns have been applied in Kyiv and in Kharkiv, Poltava and Sumy oblasts to stabilise the situation in the power system.
Hourly power-cut schedules are in effect across all regions of Ukraine. In most regions, capacity-limitation schedules for industrial consumers and businesses also remain in place.
Background:
- On the night of 24-25 November, Russian forces launched another large-scale combined attack on Ukraine. The number of people killed in the combined strike on the capital has risen to 6, with 13 injured, and people may still be under the rubble.
- Russian forces attacked Odesa Oblast again in the evening and overnight; fires broke out at energy and port infrastructure facilities. Six people, including two children, were injured.
- According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the main Russian overnight strike targeted Kyiv and the oblast, with energy facilities as the primary objective.
- Scheduled power cuts in Kyiv have been suspended and emergency outages introduced following the large-scale attack.
