Russians control most of Pokrovsk – Ukrainska Pravda

Most of the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast is under the control of Russian forces.

Quote: "Pokrovsk is largely lost. Ukrainian positions still remain on the northern outskirts of the city; however, most of Pokrovsk is under the occupiers' control. The entire part of the settlement below the railway line that 'cuts' the city in half is, according to UP, held by the Russians. Information available to Ukrainska Pravda indicates that the line of contact runs almost along the northern edge of the city. The General Staff map for the Pokrovsk front is at least a month behind reality."
Details: According to UP journalists, the belated attempts to clear Pokrovsk did not and could not bring the expected result – there were already too many Russian troops.
Counteractions in the neighbouring village of Rodynske, through which one of the roads into the city runs (Dobropillia–Pokrovsk), were initially successful, but it was later reoccupied by the Russians.
A recent statement by the 7th Air Assault Corps claiming a clearance of Pokrovsk's centre does not reflect the actual situation on the ground, UP reports.
The publication notes that Pokrovsk became the first city in this war that Ukraine lost not on the ground, but in the air. Around August this year, the Russians established drone control over the airspace of Pokrovsk, including through one of their most effective UAV units, Rubikon. This made logistics and troop rotation on the positions impossible.
There is still no unified or scalable solution within the defence forces for countering Russian drone operators.
