Details: Sybiha said he discussed ways to increase contributions to the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative with Šekerinska. The scheme envisages the purchase of US weapons for Ukraine's defence forces funded by NATO member states.

The Ukrainian minister also briefed her on the aftermath of Russia's strikes on Ukraine on the night of 24-25 November 2025 and outlined Kyiv's priority needs for strengthening air defence and other capabilities.

He said that both sides agreed that Russian attacks go contrary to the peace efforts led by the United States and US President Trump.

They also discussed the next steps in the peace process.

Background:

  • Radmila Šekerinska's visit comes shortly after the United States and Ukraine developed a new 19-point peace agreement during the Geneva talks but left the most politically sensitive issues for the two presidents to decide.
  • NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has said the 28-point plan for settling Russia's war against Ukraine put forward by the Trump administration has helped bring Ukrainian and US positions closer together.
