Ukraine's Air Force: 577 Russian aerial assets downed, hits reported at 22 locations

Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using attack UAVs and air- and ground-launched missiles on the night of 28-29 November. Ukraine's air defence forces have downed or suppressed 577 out of 632 aerial assets.

Details: The main aim of the Russian attack was Kyiv Oblast.

There were missile strikes and 35 attack drone hits confirmed at 22 locations, as well as falling debris at 17 locations.

In total, the Air Force's air surveillance troops detected and tracked 632 aerial assets – 36 missiles and 596 UAVs of different types:

  • 596 attack UAVs of the Shahed and other types launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea – about 350 of them were Shaheds
  • 5 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (launched from Ryazan Oblast, Russia)
  • 23 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from Rostov Oblast, Russia)
  • 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launched from Bryansk and Rostov Oblasts, Russia)
  • 4 Kh-59/69 air-launched guided missiles (launched from Kursk Oblast, Russia)

Early reports indicated that as of 10:30, air defence had shot down or jammed 577 aerial assets:

  • 558 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of UAVs
  • 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile
  • 12 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles
  • 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
  • 2 Kh-59/69 air-launched guided missiles

Background: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that three people had been killed and dozens injured in a combined Russian attack against Ukraine on the night of 28-29 November and in the morning.
