Ukrainian Armed Forces deny Russian claim of capturing two villages in Donetsk Oblast

Russia's Defence Ministry has claimed to have seized the settlements of Stavky and Novoselivka in Donetsk Oblast, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine have said this information is not true.

Quote: "The command of the 20th Army and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has claimed the alleged 'capture' of the settlements of Stavky and Novoselivka in the sector held by the 60th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps [of the Ukrainian Armed Forces]. This is simply another attempt at disinformation."
More details: The Ukrainian military said that the Russian forces are relying on an old tactic in which small groups infiltrate areas close to settlements they do not actually control, stage videos with the Russian flag to simulate a presence, then pass off their losses as battlefield gains.

Each of these groups is consistently wiped out by Ukrainian units, yet commanders of Russia's 20th Army continue to file fabricated success reports to satisfy their superiors.
The military urged people to trust only verified information and said up-to-date reports from the corps' positions are published on the official pages of Ukrainian units.
Quote from brigade commander Dmytro Rohoziuk: "The 60th Separate Mechanised Brigade, together with adjacent units, continues to hold its positions firmly in Donetsk Oblast. There are no grounds whatsoever to announce the 'capture' of the settlements of Stavky and Novoselivka."
Background: Russian propagandists have earlier circulated fake news about an alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of the settlement of Podoly near Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast.
