Ukrainian companies unveil camera with auto-targeting module against Shahed attack drones

Ukrainian companies The Fourth Law and Odd Systems, founded by Yaroslav Azhniuk, have presented a camera for interceptor drones at the Brave1 Components exhibition. The system automatically directs a drone towards an aerial target.
The Fourth Law develops software and auto-targeting modules, while Odd Systems produces the Kurbas line of UAV cameras. Their goal is to create an intelligent system capable of identifying a target and guiding an interceptor drone more effectively than a human operator, who may make errors or lack the experience to destroy the target at the first attempt.
The camera's detection function already works reliably, helping operators spot Russian drones in the sky in time. The system autonomously identifies a drone on a thermal image, analysing its movement, thermal signature and other parameters using AI.

Work on the automatic targeting module is still ongoing.
"The difficulty in developing a guidance module specifically against Shahed drones lies in the fact that these are high-speed targets paired with a high-speed interceptor drone. Effective targeting therefore requires more precise flight-control algorithms," a company representative told Oboronka, a military-themed project by Ukrainska Pravda.
The operating altitude of the camera with the module is up to 5,000 m. Detection range reaches up to 1,000 m (weather-dependent). The stated detection accuracy is 80%.
Odd Systems' Kurbas-640 cameras are already mounted on several Ukrainian interceptor drone models, including the STING UAV by Dyki Shershni (Wild Hornets), which recently began destroying rocket-powered Shaheds.
The price of the camera with the targeting module is around US$800, while the module alone costs US$300.
The companies' long-term goal is to achieve full autonomy for frontline drones—for both aerial and ground targets.
