Zelenskyy says five more Ukrainians return to freedom from Belarus

Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the details of preparations for a special operation to free about 100 civilians who have been held in Belarus, including five Ukrainians.

Quote: "Thanks to the active role of the United States and the cooperation of our intelligence agencies, around one hundred people are regaining their freedom now, including five Ukrainians.

We are helping our American partners so that the relevant support is provided to Ukraine. As needed, the special services of our European neighbours are also involved."

Details: Zelenskyy also instructed the relevant agencies to step up their work on the Russian track in order to free as many Ukrainians as possible by 2026.

Background: A few hours earlier, US President's Special Envoy to Belarus John Coale said that the United States had lifted sanctions on Belarusian potash.
