Details: Russia has deployed its entire operational reserve – an airborne division consisting of three regiments. The Russians are using these forces to try to break through Ukrainian defences both on the flanks and head-on. Meanwhile, Ukrainian units recently received reinforcements, allowing them to effectively hold back the offensive.
Since the beginning of the day, the Russians have launched 25 attacks near the settlements of Rodynske, Myronhrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske and Filiia and toward Hryshyne and Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders have repelled 19 of these and fighting continues.
Ukraine's defence forces are holding the northern part of Pokrovsk, while blocking the advance of the Russians in the city centre.
Quote: "Ukraine's defence forces continue to control the northern part of Pokrovsk. Our soldiers are blocking the enemy's advance in the city centre.
In Myronhrad, Ukrainian units are holding defence lines and destroying enemy forces on the approaches to the city.
Logistics remain challenging. Measures are being taken to expand logistical corridors to Myronhrad to strengthen our supply capabilities."
Background:
- Ukraine's 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces said that it controls the northern part of Pokrovsk, where Russian troops have "lost momentum".
- Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda sources on the Pokrovsk front said that Ukraine's defence forces had withdrawn from some positions near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad several weeks ago, including in the area of the villages of Sukhyi Yar and Lysivka.
