Quote: "Another night-time attack on Odesa has hit railway infrastructure. A signal box at one of the stations has been smashed, and our railway worker, a signalwoman, has sustained an injury. She was immediately taken to hospital, and her colleagues are by her side.

The injury is not critical, but she is undergoing surgery. For our part, we will do everything we can to ensure her speedy recovery.

Despite the damage, train movements at the Odesa railway hub have been maintained."

Background:

  • Russian forces once again attacked Odesa on the night of 18-19 December, leaving part of the city without water, heating and electricity. Odesa Oblast Military Administration Head Serhii Lysak reported that one person had been taken to hospital in a moderate condition.
  • A critical infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of the latest attack. The blast wave also damaged residents' homes. Part of a densely populated district in the city has temporarily been left without electricity, water and heating.
