"Ukraine's collapse would be a serious problem for Hungary. So it is not only not in Hungary's interest for Ukraine to collapse, but we must do a great deal to prevent that from happening," the Hungarian prime minister said in his speech.

He wrote that stability in the neighbouring country is important for Hungary, which supplies Ukraine with electricity and gas.

"Meanwhile, the war weakens Ukraine day by day. Peace is the only thing that can strengthen it. Anyone who truly stands with Ukraine must want peace, and must want it now," Orbán tweeted.
