He added that he had raised the issue of the disgraceful treatment of Ukrainians in Poland the previous day during talks with his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski.

"I received assurances that the Polish side is responding and will respond appropriately," he wrote.

Sybiha said that, as foreign minister, he insists on fair punishment for those who perpetuate xenophobic attacks against Ukrainians both in Poland and in other countries.

Quote: "The Ukrainian people have certainly not deserved such treatment. I believe that a few exemplary cases of accountability for such actions can show everyone else that this behaviour cannot and will never be the norm in civilised European society."

More details: Sybiha also noted that he had instructed the entire consular service to monitor all such incidents particularly closely and to respond promptly and resolutely.
