The Kremlin has said it awaits the proposals developed by representatives of Ukraine, European countries and the US as part of talks on ending the war, but believes that most of them will be categorically unacceptable for Russia.

Details: Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian leader, recalled that Kremlin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev is currently on a working trip to Miami, from where he will bring back "certain signals that the Americans have received from the Europeans and the Ukrainians".

Quote: "We will discuss all this here, look at what can be accepted, and what categorically can't be. I think that most of the proposals will be categorically unacceptable to us, because we will adhere to what we agreed in Anchorage and at other meetings with American representatives."

Details: Ushakov suggested that what the Europeans and Ukrainians had proposed for the US settlement plan was "rather unconstructive".

Ushakov also added that Dmitriev is already "reporting certain things" about his contacts in the US.

Quote: "We are waiting for his return, I hope he will return on Monday and will brief the president [Putin] first of all on the outcome of his talks. After that we will develop our own position, which we will then take forward, primarily in contacts with the Americans." [N.B. Ukrainska Pravda does not recognise Putin as president – ed.]

Previously: On 21 December, National Security and Defence Council Secretary Rustem Umierov announced that a meeting between the Ukrainian and US delegations will take place in the United States on Sunday.
