Details: Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported the use by Russia of the Molniya aircraft-type FPV kamikaze drone, which was launched from a special catapult and guided to its target by an operator. The Russians later began using the Molniya-2 modification, featuring two engines mounted on the wings, an improved fuselage, increased flight range, and an enhanced warhead.

"A new adaptation of this UAV has now been identified – the Molniya-2R, designed for aerial reconnaissance. To this end, Russian developers have integrated a Raspberry Pi 5 microcomputer into the aircraft, as well as a Chinese Mini PC F8 branded under the Russian name Raskat and running a licensed Windows 11 operating system," Ukrainian intelligence said.

Ukrainian intelligence added that, in addition to the forward-facing FPV camera, the drone has been equipped with an additional Chinese SIYI ZR10 camera featuring ten-times optical zoom and three-axis stabilisation, significantly expanding its surveillance and targeting-adjustment capabilities.

The intelligence agency also explained that a Starlink satellite terminal has been installed on board the Molniya-2R to transmit video from both cameras, telemetry data and control commands.
