Russia attacks Pivdennyi port in Odesa Oblast again, dozens of containers ablaze

The Russians once again attacked the port of Pivdennyi in Odesa Oblast on the night of 21-22 December.

Quote: "A fire broke out – around 30 containers holding flour and vegetable oil caught fire as a result of the strike on the port of Pivdennyi. Port workers and all relevant services are working at the site, and efforts to deal with the aftermath are ongoing."
Details: According to Kuleba, damage to energy infrastructure has also left more than 120,000 consumers in Odesa Oblast without electricity.
"Emergency crews have already begun repair work. Critical infrastructure facilities are connected to alternative power sources," Kuleba added.
The region continues to receive heating and water supplies, he said.
In addition, restoration work is under way in Zhytomyr Oblast, where railway infrastructure has been damaged.
The minister said that two locomotive drivers were injured and are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
"Specialist employees are working at the scene. Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) is taking all necessary measures to restore the section as quickly as possible and return train services to schedule," he said.
Background:
- On the evening of 19 December, Russian forces carried out a large-scale ballistic missile strike on port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast. Seven people were killed and 15 were injured in the attack.

- Following a morning attack on 20 December, storage tanks at the port of Pivdennyi in Odesa Oblast were damaged.
