Police officers killed in explosion at site of general's assassination in Moscow – video

Two police officers have been killed in an explosion in Moscow overnight near the site where a car explosion earlier killed Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and who reportedly took part in the war against Ukraine.

Details: Russia's Investigative Committee reported that two traffic police officers on Yeletskaya Street in Moscow noticed a person acting suspiciously near a police service vehicle at night. When they approached to detain the individual, an explosive device was detonated.
The site of the incident
According to Sota, the unknown person they tried to detain threw a bomb into their vehicle.
The two police officers and a person who was nearby suffered fatal injuries.
Investigators and forensic experts from the Moscow Investigative Committee have examined the scene. Special personnel are determining how the explosive device was detonated. Witnesses are being questioned and CCTV footage is being reviewed.
Background: Earlier on 22 December, a car in Moscow was blown up, killing Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Russian public channels have reported that Sarvarov took part in the war against Ukraine and previously fought in Chechnya and Syria.
