Details: As a result, consumers were left without electricity in Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Odesa oblasts (in Odesa Oblast, the outages were caused by earlier strikes), the ministry said.
"Power engineers are doing everything possible to repair all damaged equipment as quickly as possible and reconnect all consumers. Round-the-clock emergency repair works are underway," the Ministry of Energy stressed.
It was also reported that, in order to ensure stable electricity supply to the population during the heating season under such difficult conditions, the government adopted a number of decisions at its meeting yesterday.
These include, in particular, strengthening oversight of compliance with legislation in the heat and power supply sectors, as well as completing the tender for the construction of new generation capacity.
Background: On 25 December, scheduled power outages are being applied across all regions of Ukraine.
