Details: Last night, the Russians conducted yet another combined large-scale attack on the energy infrastructure supplying the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast. Energy infrastructure in other regions was also damaged due to the attack and bombardments along the front line, the Ministry of Energy reported.
As of this morning, some consumers in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad oblasts remain without power.
"Wherever the security situation allows, emergency workers and power engineers have already begun emergency repair work in order to restore electricity to consumers as quickly as possible," the Energy Ministry said in a statement.
Stricter electricity consumption restrictions have been introduced in some Ukrainian oblasts due to the large-scale attacks. From 08:00, hourly outage schedules and power restriction schedules for businesses and industry have been implemented.
Background:
- On the night of 13-14 March, the Russians launched a combined attack using 498 aerial assets – drones and missiles – of which the Air Force reported 460 as shot down or jammed.
- In Kyiv, trolleybus and tram services have been temporarily suspended in several areas following the overnight Russian attack, which caused power outages in sections of the city's overhead contact network.
