Latvia bans entry to Russian athletes ahead of luge competitions

Baiba Braže, Latvia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, has announced an entry ban for 14 Russian athletes ahead of luge competitions scheduled to take place in the city of Sigulda.

Details: Braže noted that athletes from the aggressor state are not welcome in Latvia.

"The entry ban is valid for an indefinite period. The decision was taken in accordance with Article 61.2 of the Immigration Law," she added.
Background:
- In October, Estonia imposed a short-term entry ban on a pro-Russian politician from Latvia, Aleksejs Rosļikovs.
- It was also reported that Lithuania banned entry to Russian rapper Alisher Morgenshtern.
