Details: Bring Kids Back UA said the Russians threatened to mobilise the boys into their forces.
The woman and her two sons lived in constant danger under occupation because her husband is a Ukrainian soldier who survived Russian captivity.
The self-proclaimed occupation authorities barred the family from leaving their place of residence and regularly carried out searches and interrogations in their home. The Russians also threatened to forcibly conscript the boys into the Russian forces.
To protect the children, the family had to keep hiding. Every attempt to leave on their own ended in failure.
The family has finally been reunited in time for Christmas. They are now receiving psychological support alongside assistance with housing and completing the necessary documents.
Background: Ukraine has brought back 12 children and teenagers from temporarily occupied territories, including a boy who had no access to life-saving medication and a girl whose sister was forcibly taken to a so-called "summer camp".
