Canada announces CA$2.5bn in economic aid to Ukraine

Canada has announced economic assistance to Ukraine in the amount of CA$2.5 billion (about US$1.68 billion).

"We're announcing today further economic assistance for Ukraine, CA$2.5 billion worth of economic assistance that helps unlock financing from the IMF, from the World Bank, from the European Bank for reconstruction and development to begin this process of rebuilding," Carney said.
The bilateral meeting will be followed by a joint phone call with European leaders for consultations ahead of the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump on 28 December.
