Starmer did not join Zelenskyy's call with European leaders due to busy schedule

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not join the conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney with European leaders because of a "busy schedule".

Details: On Saturday evening, Zelenskyy held a phone call with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Poland ahead of his meeting with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.
The United Kingdom was represented during the conference call by Jonathan Powell, Starmer's National Security Adviser.
The UK government said that the prime minister had not planned to take part in the meeting and stressed that Powell regularly participates in such conference calls on behalf of the UK.
The government added that other European national security advisers were also present on the call.
Sources on Downing Street emphasised that Starmer regularly communicates with Zelenskyy and other world leaders, but was unable to join Saturday's meeting due to a "busy schedule".
They added that he had spoken with the leaders of the E3 – France, Germany and Italy – on Friday and is engaged in "ongoing diplomacy" when it comes to efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

- The call was also joined by French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
