Russia's Ministry of Defence has claimed that it repelled a drone attack on a residence of Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Novgorod Oblast on the night of 28-29 December and has revealed what it described as details of the incident.

Details: According to the Russian Defence Ministry, on the night of 28-29 December, Russian air defence systems supposedly intercepted 91 attack drones which, as the Russian side claims, were heading towards the Kremlin leader's residence.

The ministry said that 49 drones had been supposedly downed over Bryansk Oblast and one more over Smolensk Oblast.

It also claimed that 18 drones were intercepted over Novgorod Oblast before 07:00 on 29 December, and a further 23 between 07:00 and 09:00.
