Russian forces have once again attacked energy infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, with two energy facilities belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, coming under fire on the night of 30-31 December.

Details: The company said the facilities have sustained significant damage, and bringing the equipment back to working order will take time.

In December alone, the Russians have caused serious damage to ten substations in the oblast, while over the entire year of 2025 they have attacked 25 energy facilities across the region.

Power engineers are working around the clock to restore electricity supply to consumers, the company added.

Background: On the night of 30-31 December, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack using strike drones on Odesa and the surrounding region, leaving parts of the regional capital without electricity, water and heating. Six people were injured in the attack.
