Zelenskyy: 24 countries have joined PURL arms procurement initiative
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that a total of 24 countries have now joined NATO's Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, through which countries can purchase US-made weapons for Ukraine.

Details: Zelenskyy listed the countries that have joined PURL since it was launched in August: the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, Finland, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, Australia, Greece, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania and Croatia.
"The total amount of contributions has reached $4.3 billion, including nearly $1.5 billion in December alone. This has made it possible to form eight assistance packages already, and work is currently underway to fund two more," Zelenskyy said.
The latest countries to join the initiative are Croatia and Romania.
Background:
- On 31 December, it was reported that Croatia would allocate around €14 million to purchase US-made weapons for Ukraine.
- Romania has decided to support the PURL initiative with a contribution of €50 million.
