Details: Hryhorieva said that since 2019, there have been female service members in the Armed Forces who received their initial rank and began serving in their specialities and who already hold the rank of major or captain.
Meanwhile, she stressed that problems remain with the career development of women in the Armed Forces. In particular, there are no female combat generals in the Ukrainian military.
"Because they have not yet gone through their tactical, operational and strategic levels of education. They have not commanded brigades," Hryhorieva noted.
However, there are four female generals in the medical service.
Hryhorieva said that the significant increase in the number of women in the military took place during the full-scale invasion. At present, the Armed Forces include women serving as
- platoon commanders
- a commander of a military unit
- a battalion commander in the Territorial Defence.
Quote: "And I want to tell you now that we have very good statistics regarding female officers. If two years ago we were talking about 4%, today 21% of all those serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are women officers. This is a very serious level of progress."
Details: Hryhorieva also noted that there are many female service members who will be trained to become battalion commanders in their combat units.
