Zelenskyy has decided on candidates to lead State Border Guard Service

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he has narrowed down the candidates for the appointment of the new head of the State Border Guard Service, but has not yet revealed any names.

Details: Zelenskyy held a meeting with Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
The Ukrainian leader promised that the appointment of the head of the State Border Guard Service will take place "shortly".
Klymenko also reported on the security situation in the country and the response to the aftermath of Russian strikes.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "We also discussed the further development of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. It is important that border guard warriors, together with all other components of the Defence and Security Forces of Ukraine, are successfully carrying out combat missions. Together with Ihor Klymenko, we identified candidates for appointment as a new Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine."
Background:
- The day before, Zelenskyy announced that Klymenko will soon present candidates to replace Lieutenant General Serhii Deineko as head of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, while Deineko will remain within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
- On 4 January, Deineko became an advisor to the minister of internal affairs.
