Afterwards, the Bratstvo fighters conducted a complex and lengthy escort of the POWs – over a distance of around 27 km – and brought them to territory under Ukrainian control.

The press service said the captured Russians provided valuable information on the locations of Russian officers, artillery positions, UAV operators, areas where personnel and equipment were concentrated and ammunition storage points.

A video posted by DIU shows details of the capture of Russian soldiers who go by the aliases Mangust (Mongoose) and Lyudoed (Cannibal).

Quote: "The operation confirmed the existence of serious gaps in the enemy's frontline defence system: the enemy does not expect active operations by Ukrainian intelligence operatives deep inside its positions and is unable to mount effective resistance in the rear.

After the operation was completed, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov honoured the fighters and commanders of the Bratstvo unit with state and departmental awards."
