US Embassy warns of potential air attack on Ukraine, without mentioning Russia

The United States Embassy in Ukraine has reported a "potentially significant" air attack in the coming days.

Details: On the evening of 8 January, the US Embassy said it had received information about "a potentially significant air attack that may occur at any time over the next several days".

"The embassy, as always, recommends US citizens be prepared to immediately shelter in the event an air alert is announced," the warning said.

However, it is worth noting that the US embassy did not indicate in the warning that it is Russia that would be responsible for the large-scale air attack.

• In late December, US President Donald Trump said that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin wants peace and that Russia's recent intense attacks on Ukraine are a response to Ukrainian attacks in the rear of the Russian Federation.
