The 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces has reported that Russian forces are attempting to infiltrate the northern part of the war-torn city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, but the Ukrainian defence forces are repelling these efforts. Nevertheless, the drop in temperatures is complicating combat operations, while logistics remain challenging.

Quote: "The situation in Pokrovsk: we are holding back the enemy in the north and providing our troops with heating equipment. The enemy has intensified attempts to infiltrate the northern part of Pokrovsk, above the railway line, using assault groups. However, the defence forces are stopping the enemy's efforts."

Details: The Corps said the Russians are also trying to conduct active operations in the industrial zone on the north-western outskirts of the city. The aim is to build up forces for a further advance towards Hryshyne.

"However, the defence forces are acting pre-emptively, using attack UAVs and artillery to prevent the enemy from concentrating forces and equipment or launching offensive operations," the Ukrainian military says.

The freezing cold weather is currently complicating combat operations for both sides. Ukrainian units are being supplied with the necessary equipment to maintain combat effectiveness in low temperatures, notably through the organised supply of warm clothing and individual heating devices.

Nonetheless, logistics in the combat zone remain challenging. Heavy drones and ground-based robotic systems are being used for supply deliveries.
