Details: DTEK noted that the scale of the damage is extensive and full power restoration to all homes is not technically feasible at this time.

"Together with the local authorities, we are looking for alternative power supply options, primarily for buildings without centralised heating and water supply," DTEK said.

The company reported that more than 18,000 consumers currently remain without electricity.

Background:

  • As of the morning of 11 January, repair work in the energy system was continuing in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. However, a significant part of the oblast, except for the Kryvyi Rih district, remained without power.
  • During the day on 11 January, power engineers managed to restore electricity to most consumers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast after the outage. Meanwhile, repair work continued on Dnipro's left bank and in the Dniprovskyi district following the attack.
