Quote from Kalashnyk: "A house caught fire in the Vyshhorod district as a result of the attack. In the Brovary district, three houses were damaged (broken windows and a damaged façade), along with a car and a temporary structure. In the Fastiv district, an outbuilding caught fire."

"Emergency power cuts have been introduced in part of the Bucha district and continue in the Brovary and Boryspil districts, while stabilisation schedules are being applied in other parts of the oblast due to terrorist actions of the enemy," Kalashnyk said.

He added that invincibility centres are operating in the oblast, where residents can warm up, charge phones and receive necessary assistance. [Invincibility centres are heated premises stocked with food and power banks to assist residents facing hardships due to power cuts – ed.]

Kalashnyk urged residents who still have electricity to use it sparingly in order to help stabilise the system and restore power to those who are without it.

Background:

  • Emergency power cuts had been introduced in the capital and the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast.
  • The Ministry of Energy said the restrictions were caused by a missile and drone attack on energy facilities, severe frost and the aftermath of bad weather in Kyiv Oblast.
