Ukrainian company unveils mass-produced drone that can lie in wait for targets for up to 14 days

A Ukrainian drone producer, TAF Industries, has developed the waiting drone system for strike UAVs, a technology that allows a drone to wait for a target for up to 14 days.

Details: The delayed-start system, Power Key, works via a circuit board developed by the company. It allows the operator to shut down all power except the receiver, putting the UAV into sleep mode and making it undetectable to Russian electronic signals intelligence.

Ukrainian troops began testing the first UAVs fitted with the system in August 2025.
Quote: "Testing of the board has shown that the drone is capable of remaining in standby mode for up to 14 days. After two weeks in ambush, it retains enough charge for the final manoeuvre."
More details: Since December last year, the company has been assembling drones with the Power Key board in serial production. The system operates on Kolibri 7, 8 and 10 UAVs, including variants with day and night cameras and radio communications.
Quote: "Unlike enemy fibre-optic solutions, waiting drones are mobile and autonomous. Power Key is the first unique solution implemented in serial production that enables ambushes against vehicles and personnel where they are least expected."

For reference: TAF Industries is a Ukrainian miltech company founded in 2022. The manufacturer specialises in drones, electronic warfare systems and technologies for Ukraine's Armed Forces. It produces more than 80,000 drones a month and has more than 30 unique products for the defence industry.
Background: Earlier, TAF Industries presented an updated Quasar electronic warfare line capable of jamming drones on different frequencies at ranges of up to 250 metres. In October 2025, Ukraine's Ministry of Defence codified the company's Kolibri 13 FR1 relay drone.
