Details: Windows were also shattered in residential buildings, at Lviv Polytechnic University, a school and a college.
First Deputy Mayor of Lviv Andrii Moskalenko posted photos of the damaged church. They show that only the stained-glass elements of the exterior decoration were affected.
The church was built in 1904. The building also houses a stained-glass iconostasis installed in 2016 by stained-glass artists Yurii Pavelchuk and Oleksandr Lychko. It is the first stained-glass iconostasis in Ukraine.
The neo-Gothic cathedral is a monument of local architectural significance.
